InSight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching is seeking applications for a volunteer assistant editor. The Assistant Editor will join an editorial team and peer review board consisting of faculty from Park University and a variety of other institutions across the country who serve as peer reviewers. Founded in 2006, InSight is a well-established cross-disciplinary Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) journal that is indexed through EbscoHost, MERLOT, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (among others).
The Assistant Editor role is characterized by:
- Working closely with the editor and editorial board on matters related to manuscript review and decision-making
- Promoting the call for proposals among professional networks
- Strengthening experience and skills related to writing, reviewing, and editing content for a SoTL journal
Successful candidates will have:
- Commitment to advancing SoTL in higher education
- Experience with research and scholarship
- General knowledge of a broad range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to established timelines
- Willingness to correspond via email, phone, and/or videoconference as needed with the editor
